The Electronic System for Updating Visas (EVUS) is linked to the applicant’s passport and their US visa. For the nationalities required to register with EVUS before traveling to the United States, it is necessary to enroll with EVUS in addition to having a US visa and a valid passport.
An EVUS registration is generally valid for two years. However, if the linked passport or visa expires before this period, the EVUS registration also expires. In these cases, it is necessary to renew EVUS in order to travel to the US.

A unique registration number is given after an EVUS application form is completed. If an EVUS registration number is lost it can be recovered by providing some basic information (see the list below).
